This Fan Theory Will Change The Way You Watch Star Wars

Star Wars is officially the biggest franchise in history, thanks to all the nerds of the world that were too busy playing with toys to go on a date with me. One of these nerds reached out to us about this crazy fan theory he had. It's literally so crazy, it might actually be true.

The theory asks the question, could Luke Skywalker and Princess/General Leia be brother and sister? It's insane to even think about - but read through the evidence first!

Hint #1 - Luke and Leia Act Like They're More Than Friends!

Remember this scene from Empire Strikes Back?

No one kisses their friend like that! There has to be more to their relationship! Ahem, siblings maybe? Look at Chewbacca's face. He knows they're hiding something alright.

Hint #2 - Padme Has Two Babies We Never See Again!

In 2005, a little film came out called Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith, however it wasn't seen by many people because it came out only a week after Jennifer Lopez's film Monster-In-Law. Obviously if you put your film in theaters at the same time Monster-In-Law is showing, you're going to be missing out on a lot of viewers.

In this little known Star Wars film, just before Padme dies from being too bummed out, she has two babies. If you don't remember, Padme was the fourteen year old queen that marries a nine year old slave boy in the previous Star Wars episode. So she names the babies Luke and Leia... Weird, right? These names are almost identical to Luke Skywalker and Leia Oragana, but we never see these babies again after Revenge of the Sith. Could they actually be the same people?

As if that weren't enough - in a deleted scene you can hear Padme saying, "It is possible I am mother to Luke and Leia, the heroes of episode four through six."

Hint #3 - Yoda Might Be Hinting at it in Return of the Jedi!

Still not convinced? Well, there is a famous scene with Yoda in Return of the Jedi and usually everyone falls asleep during it. Watching an entire movie is hard without a nap, so it's understandable why a few people might be too tuckered out to watch this scene. No one has actually seen this part of the movie except George Lucas, but he won't tell anyone what happens because he's ticked off that everyone falls asleep during it.

Roger Ebert wrote this is his review of the film, "This is a good movie if you like space! I did fall asleep right when it looked like Yoda was going to tell Luke a big secret. Hope I didn't miss any sibling reveals."

So what did Yoda tell Luke? If anyone knew that Luke and Leia were brother and sister it'd be him. After all, Yoda and Leia were high school sweethearts so it's likely Leia would have mentioned any siblings she had. From what I've heard on the internet, Leia still hits him up from time to time.

So what do you think? Are you convinced? Pop on a slippery wet sock and also pop in your favorite Star Wars DVD to look for more clues that Luke and Leia are siblings. To infinity, and beyond!
